It was a quiet weekday morning when I tried out Golden Nails for the first time. I went based on reviews from Yelp. It was weird to walk in as the only customer and find all the workers staring at me. But my feet needed work and I wasn't going to waste my walk all the way from Geneva Ave. Henry did my pedicure. He was very nice and gentle which is always great. I'm ticklish so he tried his best to work quickly so I wasn't in too much discomfort. The massage chair they put you in comes with the $15 base price. Problem was, the massage chair was going crazy and buzzing from all the vibrations. But the pedicure was done really well and has lasted quite a long time.

Recommend that if you bring a friend so you have someone to chat with instead of eavesdropping on the workers. lol. If you get your nails done regularly and want to grow a friendship with your manicurist go to Julia. She will take the time to answer all your questions, listens to your concerns and really takes her work seriously. She works Wednesday through Sunday and she is da bomb! I usually get a gell/acrylic fill and she will take off my old acrylic nails and puts new white tips on with a design for around 30 dollars. Most manicurist will try to get away with just painting on french tips and calling it a day. She goes the extra mile to make sure you are satisfied when you leave. I would recommend that you go during week between 10-5, so then the place isn't busy and she can spend extra time with you. I gave her a five star rating because its rare to find a manicurist who will actually talk to you & make you feel comfortable and do a good job. She was funny, sincere, professional and great at what she does. The place is kind of a hole in the wall but the price is right and so is the service.

Hoochie nailz at a reasonable price... I love this place! Full-set, acrylic was $20 with design. They did not break, chip, or fall off. The man who worked on my nails was fast and skilled. I was a first time customer and was very pleased with the work that he did. I will most likely return when I need em done. It is not the nicest salon I've ever been to but they have A LOT of fun designs to choose from and they are willing to do a good job at a good price. It is hard to find salons in the city like this because they are either dirty, too pricey, or don't do a good job. I had my nails on for 3 wks and they never chipped. I was surprised that they lasted that long but happy I spent my $$ on a job well done. Nothing is worse than a broken nail after getting them freshly done UGHHHhh! I also liked that I did not have to wait forever to get my nails done. I was in and out within an hour. This is a first because nail salons usually make you wait forever. I am coming back to Golden Nails next time I need to get a fresh, new set.

Halloween Night

Hello dear readers!

This is my last Halloween nail art of the year. I did 4 different manicures in total which is an improvement because I usually only did 1 manicure on previous years. This manicure is originally my bf's idea. He wanted to do all the nail polishing and stamping himself but then got frustrated by my huge nail polish stash. From what he told me about his idea, this is what I came up with:

I started with LVX nail polish in Legendaire as the base. I stamped a grunge splatter pattern from HD-C plate using Sally Hansen Insta-dri in Lively Lilac. I stamped all the small designs using HD C and D plates including a tree design from last year's collection.

I used Nabi in black for stamping. on some designs I used the decal technique to do a reverse stamping.

The staff is great, it just sucks that I can't give shout outs because I totally forgot their name. They closed an hour late just so I can get my mani and pedi, so sweet. I just wish the place was a little bigger and they would have more shellac nail polish to choose from. Stopped going here to get my eyebrows done because the lady who always used to do my eyebrows stopped trimming them after she was done waxing, i even asked her and reminded her to trim my eyebrows and she said she did, but she didnt and i ended up doing it myself when i got home. and she made my eyebrows sooo uneven.. twice :( idk why i decided to go back after she messed them up the first time!

Tried out Golden Nails for the first time today. Got their standard mani/pedi. Made an appointment using the tool on their website, and when I got there they were expecting me. Tony did a great manicure on my natural nails - they look like something out of a polish advertisement. He did the manicure at a station before I moved to the massage chair to start my pedicure. That was nice, as I find doing them separately to be much more relaxing. Tiffany then did my pedicure - awesome! She did a great job cleaning up my cuticles and toes. I asked her to do some designs which she gladly did - she has a good hand for them.

I usually come in for a manicure, and already is a perfection! But I wanted to try Van for her eye brow waxing. It's my first time so I didn't know what to expect. She did a great job and I'm so happy about it (: and honestly, it was painless. Half the time I didn't know what was going on, lol. Golden nails is now my go to for EVERYTHING!!

The girl regularly do my nails was off. But I needed a new set badly so I searched Yelp. Golden Nails shows up and it seems has pretty good rating so i pick Van. Made an appointment with Van. But when I got there she had another old lady to do my new set.I questioned her why? And she replied" no worry honey she is gooood" After done, those nails already has lots of lumps and bumps. So Van gave me discount and offering next time she will help me out. WTH after this bad experience I ain't going there any more to spend my $$$ on Golden Nails! See pics yourself. First day my nail lift up already and second day gets worse! Stay away from this place and spend your money wisely girls.

Decided stop by here after my previous gel manicure was growing out for far too long! Don't expect anything glamorous. This is strictly a quick, get the job done place. I bought the online yelp coupon for "$5 for $10 service". They honored the certificate. Rose was the one working on my nails and she was super sweet, did a pretty decent job. Didn't push me for any other services, like I said quick in and out. They charge you a $5 fee to take off previous gel manicure residual if you didn't get it done there previously. $30 for gel manicure. Street parking so bring coins. A good selection of gel colors, spa chairs for pedicures. Make sure to get on their email list- they send out offers/ let you know about upcoming promotions.

Lets keep in mind im Vietnamese and I understand what they are talking about. I asked then if they know how to cut ingrown nails and they said yes. If they didn't want to do it I would of gone somewhere else. They said in Vietnamese they didn't want to do it bc I bought a yelp deal so my pedi was $10. I will never go to this place ever again. They said they don't want to cut my ingrown bc I might get an infection but they have me walk barefoot on their floor.... Are they serious!!!

I don't get my nails done as much as I used to because of work but when I do get them done this is the only place I go to. Staff is friendly and actually make sure you are doing okay. This is a great place to get a quick mani and pedi plus the prices are really cheap especially for shellac. Everything is properly sanitized too! This is not a day spa experience so don't expect that but it is perfect for someone who wants a regular nail shop to go to every few weeks with out breaking the bank.

Possibly the worst mani pedi I've ever had. First the woman who did my nails was less than polite, barking orders at me instead of kindly requesting that I move from one chair to the next, etc. Secondly the massage was about the quickest massage ever and done with the cuticle oil rather than an actual lotion or massage oil. On top of that the nail polish was painted on unevenly, lumpy in some places and too thin on others, and all over my cuticles. It seriously looks like a 5 yr old painted my nails.

Tried this place for the first time because they were offering a deal. I like the part of Mission St its on because its easy to find parking. First time I went service was quick and efficient. Second time I waited almost an hour, guess they were super busy. My nails still came out great so it was worth the wait. When theyre busy theyre busy! make sure you give yourself time. Otherwise, my nails were flawless each time
