It was a quiet weekday morning when I tried out Golden Nails for the first time. I went based on reviews from Yelp. It was weird to walk in as the only customer and find all the workers staring at me. But my feet needed work and I wasn't going to waste my walk all the way from Geneva Ave. Henry did my pedicure. He was very nice and gentle which is always great. I'm ticklish so he tried his best to work quickly so I wasn't in too much discomfort. The massage chair they put you in comes with the $15 base price. Problem was, the massage chair was going crazy and buzzing from all the vibrations. But the pedicure was done really well and has lasted quite a long time.

Recommend that if you bring a friend so you have someone to chat with instead of eavesdropping on the workers. lol. If you get your nails done regularly and want to grow a friendship with your manicurist go to Julia. She will take the time to answer all your questions, listens to your concerns and really takes her work seriously. She works Wednesday through Sunday and she is da bomb! I usually get a gell/acrylic fill and she will take off my old acrylic nails and puts new white tips on with a design for around 30 dollars. Most manicurist will try to get away with just painting on french tips and calling it a day. She goes the extra mile to make sure you are satisfied when you leave. I would recommend that you go during week between 10-5, so then the place isn't busy and she can spend extra time with you. I gave her a five star rating because its rare to find a manicurist who will actually talk to you & make you feel comfortable and do a good job. She was funny, sincere, professional and great at what she does. The place is kind of a hole in the wall but the price is right and so is the service.

Hoochie nailz at a reasonable price... I love this place! Full-set, acrylic was $20 with design. They did not break, chip, or fall off. The man who worked on my nails was fast and skilled. I was a first time customer and was very pleased with the work that he did. I will most likely return when I need em done. It is not the nicest salon I've ever been to but they have A LOT of fun designs to choose from and they are willing to do a good job at a good price. It is hard to find salons in the city like this because they are either dirty, too pricey, or don't do a good job. I had my nails on for 3 wks and they never chipped. I was surprised that they lasted that long but happy I spent my $$ on a job well done. Nothing is worse than a broken nail after getting them freshly done UGHHHhh! I also liked that I did not have to wait forever to get my nails done. I was in and out within an hour. This is a first because nail salons usually make you wait forever. I am coming back to Golden Nails next time I need to get a fresh, new set.
